Advocate for Cats (<4kg/4kg-8kg)

Prior to administration of heartworm prevention medication, your pet must be up to date with heartworm prevention. Please see your veterinarian for a heartworm test if your pet is not currently on heartworm prevention or has missed more than 2 weeks.

For cats-Advocate treatment kills fleas and prevents flea infestation for 4 weeks. Advocate also treats ear mites, hookworms, gastrointestinal roundworms, and avoids heartworms. Advocate is usually given on a monthly basis and can assist with flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) care.

In ferrets - Advocate treats fleas and prevents flea infestation for 3 weeks, and is used to prevent heartworm. 

For ferrets, Advocate treats fleas and prevents 3 weeks of flea infestation and is used to prevent heartworm.

Only after special consideration by the veterinarian should cats weighing less than 1 kg and ferrets weighing less than 0.8 kg be handled.

Advocate should not be used in kittens under 9 weeks of age.
